National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda

The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) was created in October 2005 as an independent institution out of the former Department of Statistics in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) and the National Service of Census. NISR mission is to assume the leading role in improving capacity to use information for evidence based decision-making by coordinating national effort to collect and archive reliable data, to analyze, document and disseminate data within an integrated and sustainable framework. NICR Vision is to develop and sustain a culture of excellence in statistical production and management of national development

      Urban CPI increased by 19.3 percent on annual basis (March 2023 and March 2022) and increased by 1.8 percent on monthly basis (March 2023 to February 2023). The annual average inflation rate between March 2023 and March 2022 was 17.5 percent. Rural CPI increased by 39.5 percent on annual basis and increased by 4.3 percent on monthly basis. Rwanda CPI increased by 31 percent on annual basis and increased by 3.4 percent on monthly basis.

      Data cited at: https://rwanda.opendataforafrica.org/ythnilg he Rwanda Foreign Private Capital 2017 Report, is the eighth in a series of annual censuses jointly conducted by the National Bank of Rwanda, the Rwanda Development Board, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda and the Private Sector Federation. The Census collected data on foreign direct investment, portfolio and foreign borrowing in resident enterprises and other variables pertaining to private sector investment. The report presents the findings of foreign private capital census that was conducted in 2017 collecting data for the year 2016. The census covered 218 companies comprised of newly registered companies as foreign direct investments by Rwanda Development Board in 2016 and the existing companies interviewed in the previous censuses.

      In the third quarter of 2022, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 3,583 billion, up from Frw 2,758 billion in same quarter of 2021. In the same quarter, services contributed 47 percent of GDP, Agriculture contributed 24 percent of GDP, Industry contributed 21 percent of GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.

In this quarter, services contributed 47 percent of GDP, Agriculture contributed 24 percent of GDP, Industry contributed 21 percent of GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products. In the third quarter of 2022, total final consumption expenditure increased by 17 percent, with Household final consumption increasing by 17 percent while Government final consumption increased by 19%. Exports increased by 36 percent; imports increased by 11 percent while Gross Capital Formation decreased by 31 percent.
