National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda

The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) was created in October 2005 as an independent institution out of the former Department of Statistics in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) and the National Service of Census. NISR mission is to assume the leading role in improving capacity to use information for evidence based decision-making by coordinating national effort to collect and archive reliable data, to analyze, document and disseminate data within an integrated and sustainable framework.
