African Child Policy Forum

The African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) is an independent, not-for-profit, pan-African institution of policy research and dialogue on the African child. ACPF aims to: Contribute to improved knowledge on children in Africa; Monitor and report progress; Identify policy options; Provide a platform for dialogue; Collaborate with governments, intergovernmental organisations and civil society in the development and implementation of effective pro-child policies and programmes; Promote a common voice for children in and out of Africa.

      Latest available data on issues related to children in Africa. It covers demographic, economic, ducation, health, and other child related indicators. Most of the statistics provided here are compiled from various sources: National Statistical Offices; AU; UNICEF; UNESCO; the UN Statistics Division; WHO; ILO; the official MDG indicators website of UNDP; UN Population Division; IMF; The Wold Bank; African Development Bank (AfDB); the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), and the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCP).The information on the legal and policy frameworks are generated mostly from country reports submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, its concluding observations, progress reports on the implementation of the AU Plan of Action on Children, Africa Fit for Children as well as from ACPF studies and resources.
