Data are disaggregated by economic activity according to the latest version of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC Rev.4). Economic activity refers to the main activity of the establishment in which the person worked during the reference period (it does not depend on the specific duties or functions of the person's job, but on the characteristics of the economic unit in which this person works).

With the aim of promoting international comparability, statistics presented on ILOSTAT are based on standard international definitions wherever feasible and may differ from official national figures. This series is based on the 13th ICLS definitions.
